Hey there! I’ve been chatting with so many new couples and families lately, so it’s the perfect time to reintroduce myself!

I’m Moira, a wedding, family, and senior portrait photographer based in Bolingbrook, IL. 📸✨

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me working in the yard or exploring the Morton Arboretum (@mortonarb)🌿 with my husband, Ethan, and our son, Jameson. Taking a break from my regular posts to talk about something bigger 🌎

If you know me, you know I have always loved nature and being outdoors. Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to visit a handful of National Parks and we are currently planning our first trip to a National Park with Jameson for this fall 💚

That being said, the current administration has recently terminated approximately 1,000 National Park Service (NPS) employees as part of a broader federal workforce reduction initiative led by Elon. The layoffs have already resulted in longer wait times, closed facilities, and potential risks during emergency situations, recently the only EMT in Yosemite was laid off.

Additionally, the layoffs will affect the local communities and businesses that rely on park tourism. In 2024, the NPS budget was $3.325 billion, which is less than 1% of the annual federal budget. NPS impact - In 2023, visitors spent $26.4 billion in communities near national parks, which supported 415,400 jobs and contributed $55.6 billion to the U.S. economy.

I urge you to call your representatives and make your voice heard about this issue. However I do know calling can sometimes feel scary so you can also visit npca.org/1000jobs (link is in my bio) to quickly and easily send a message to Congress, the message is already typed for you.

Maria and Nick are some of our closest friends, so capturing this moment had my heart racing! They’ve been together since high school, and when Nick asked me to photograph him proposing, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!

Nick suggested a trip to the @mortonarb since it’s been on Maria’s list of places to visit for a while and I had them dress up for some ‘portfolio photos.’ Despite the rain, Nick found the perfect moment to pop the question, and Maria, of course, said YES! 🥂 They even got some cheers which you can see them reacting to in photo 4 😊

It’s been so fun helping them wedding plan, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them in 2026!

2024 was all about finding balance—soaking up time with my son, Jameson, while still getting to do what I love and photograph 8 weddings and 1 elopement. Along with 23 portrait sessions! I’m so grateful for the couples who chose me to be part of their big days this year. Cheers!
